Horizon Animal Hospital was recommended to us by a friend. On our first visit, we were impressed with the cleanliness and the organization of the lobby; it was spacious, and the front desk staff were welcoming. The check-in was quick, and the records we had sent were scanned into the hospital system. Dr. Emily and the attending veterinary technician were genuinely pleased to welcome a new patient, our blind dog Hershey. They had read Hershey’s records prior to the examination, which made the conversation flow easily and without repetitions. Dr. Emily patiently listened to our concerns about Hershey’s health. Our Hershey (recently adopted from a foster home) is not only blind but was also abused, so he is easily traumatized by strangers. He was treated very gently and did not appear to be troubled after emerging from the exam room in the back. We were very pleased that Dr. Emily did thorough baseline tests. We are also happy to note that Dr. Emily believes in proactive and preventative medicine and is open to alternative medicine like acupuncture and chiropractic. We like premium health care for our pets, and we believe that our Hershey will receive that at Horizon Animal Hospital. A bonus is that grooming is a part of Horizon’s service offering.
