Meet Our Team

Hello, everyone. I'm Doctor Penn, and I'd like to share with you how I became a veterinarian and what led me down this path.

Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Wendy Patterson spent almost 20 years working in the fields of human resources and business management. During that same period, she also owned an Arabian horse farm and bred and showed her horses.

Jennifer, CVT is the Hospital Administrator. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tammy joined Horizon Animal Hospital in 2016 as the hospital manager. She was born and raised in New York and loves the NY Yankees! She has been a licensed veterinary technician since 1994.

Maple came to us from California in 2018. She was rescued from an unsuitable breeding situation, and Horizon turned her Into our Hospitality Director. She has not disappointed us with her mad job skills and continues to make people happy.

Andrea has been a part of the Horizon AH team since 2008 (first as a boarding attendant, then technician assistant, and finally a certified licensed vet tech) during which she went to school and received her CVT license in 2011.

Shea was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. While Shea was in high school she attended the East Valley Institute of Technology for her veterinary assistant certificate.

Barb is originally from Southern New Jersey and moved out west to Arizona in 2020 to be closer to her sister, brother-in-law and nieces. Her two teenage nieces are her pride and joy.

Kavita moved from the suburbs of Chicago to AZ in 2018 to attend ASU for her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. After graduating, she has devoted her time to working at Horizon Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician and hopes to attend vet school in the near future!

Joann has been in the Veterinary field for many years. She started her career in the veterinary industry in Ohio as an assistant. She then moved to Michigan where she worked as a veterinary receptionist and as a veterinary technician.

Audrey was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana. She moved to Arizona in April of 2022 and couldn’t be happier! She has a Corgi mix named Azul and is her best friend! When she is not working love being outside and swimming.

Katie has lived in Arizona since 2011. During her free time, she enjoys swimming and hiking. Katie and her boyfriend share the love of their two dogs Marco and Bones.

Reba has been in the animal industry for over 10 years. During her free time, she enjoys going to the movies, reading, taking her dogs Jack & Bowser on adventures, & spending time with friends & family.

Kelli has been a resident of Arizona since 2018, bringing with her two decades of experience in the pet care industry. Her passions include traveling, gardening and live music. Her closest companions are her loyal dog, Rosie and charming kitty MM.

Karen grew up in Dayton, Ohio with a family that loved all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, and rabbits to birds. The joy from early childhood helped her discover her passion for pets, which has led her to a dream career of dog grooming for over 40 years.
